The tradition of attar, natural, alcohol free perfume oils, originated in Persia and was brought to India by the Mughal's in the 16th Century. Botanicals are distilled in the traditional deg-bhapka method, a process that takes up to 20 consecutive days to concentrate the fragrance, which is then left to mature for several months to develop a rich velvety aroma. My attar is purchased in India personally, from a reputable family of perfumers.
