Traditionally made chakki table
Regular price
$145.00
This piece is known as a grinders table, or colloquially, as a chakki table, and has been used in India forever, to grind flour for making chapati.
Today these pieces are often used as small occasional tables, as they have lovely carvings, and the traditional assembly of the wood creates a beautiful cross design.
I have had these pieces made especially for Babylon, because I wanted one myself…. and thought I’d get a couple more while I was at it !
Approx 37 x 18cm
NB: tone of timber is very difficult to capture correctly. These pieces are stained a very dark, deep chocolate, with a matte waxed finish- lovely to the touch.
