Antique urli bowls

An urli bowl is traditionally filled with flowers and offerings as a symbol of prosperity and hospitality. 

In South India predominantly, you will find these vessels laden with roses or marigolds in entrance ways, or smaller ones on an altar.

They traditionally have a unique turned shape, with a small handle on either side.

These particular pieces are antique brass, solid, heavy weighted … and very beautiful!
