Antique charcoal/dhoop burner

A very unique find, a piece that I have never come across before!

An antique burner featuring a deep pedestal bowl of heavy weighted brass, typically used to burn charcoal or dhoop, with a removable diffuser lid, to allow the smoke to drift evocatively.

The lid features the traditional Indian peacock, a symbol of beauty and prosperity, while the bowl is stamped with a simple geometric pattern.

NB: the inside of the bowl has some rust stains, the outside however, has a gorgeous warm patina.
