Antique cosmetic tins

Exquisite antique lime tins, made from highly decorative, filigreed brass, with short hanging chains. 

These pieces are approximately 100yrs old, and traditionally held finely ground limescale powder (chuna), which was mixed with things such as turmeric or sandalwood to form a paste that was used on the face to brighten the skin. 

Each piece is unique with beautiful designs featuring flowers and traditional Indian animals. 

Large- 23 x 7cm, with 3 compartments.
