Antique Rajkothi Wall Hanging

This is a beautiful antique wall hanging, in the Rajkothi style from Gujurat, at least 50yrs old.

This style of colourful embroidery is a form of cultural storytelling, often depicting elements of traditional rural lifestyles.

This piece is brightly coloured with a red and multicoloured border and embroidered animals such as peacocks, roosters and elephants, as well as beautiful geometric designs and a sprinkling of mirror work. 

This piece is on a strong canvas backing, and can be used as a wall hanging, tablecloth, bed cover or floor mat.
