Clay diyas
Regular price
$2.50
These wonderful little terracotta diyas are found on the streets of most Rajasthani towns.
Made by hand, these are humble little pieces used as ghee/oil lamps for puja in homes, and sold by women sitting on the street.
I purchased a little stash of these diyas in honour of the upcoming festival of Diwali, ( Sanskrit: row of lights) where these are lit en masse in honour of Lakshmi, to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, or good over evil.
I imagine a smattering of these with little tea light candles across my terrace on a warm summer night ✨
