Antique hanging dia

Beautiful hanging diyas (oil lamps)

These gorgeous brass diyas feature the traditional 7 petals in which to pour oil and lay wicks, and has a heavy ornate chain to either hang, or to simply lie by its side.

Although similar, each chain and hook is unique in style and length.

These lamps are traditionally lit on special occasions such as Diwali, as they symbolise the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and conquering of ignorance….the cotton wick represents the mind or ego, and the oil represents negative tendencies. As the flame burns the oil, it signifies the purification of the mind and the removal of inner negativity, welcoming purity of mind and prosperity.
