Pressed clay Dia

Cute little terracotta dias with a pressed floral pattern, found in a street stall in Rajasthan.
Made by hand, these are humble little pieces used as ghee/oil lamps for puja.

I purchased a little stash of these diyas in honour of the upcoming festival of Diwali, ( Sanskrit: row of lights) where these are lit en masse in honour of Lakshmi, to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, or good over evil.
