Beautiful antique kantha quilts are a labour of love and time, hand sewn by a woman for her own family.

Layering old saris and the checked lungi worn by the men of the village, and quilting them together with the tiniest of stitches, often in lovely geometric patterns, taking weeks to complete.

These quilts have more weight and texture to them, due to the intricacy of the stitching and will last lifetimes….

As genuine antiques, these pieces may have patches and darns, freying layers and small marks. These are all a part of the items unique history and not considered as flaws.
